Each year, millions of birds pass over the Falsterbo Peninsula during the autumn migration. naturum Falsterbo highlights the exciting birdlife of the peninsula and its importance as a migratory hub. It also showcases how the peninsula’s unique nature is important not only to birds, but also to many rare plants and animals.
Together with architects Testbed studio and artist Terje Östling, Unsworn Industries worked with Vellinge municipality to transform the former dance restaurant Strandbaden into a new tourist attraction that houses an art gallery, a restaurant, the municipal tourist office, and a naturum exhibition.
The team collaborated on co-creation with experts and stakeholders, target group analysis, user experience design, concept development, prototyping, and developing interactive components for the exhibition, as well as producing content and educational materials for the visitors.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore the exciting nature on the Falsterbo Peninsula. Guided tours are offered, as well as educational programmes for schools and other groups.
naturum Falsterbo opened on February 6, 2016.
